A PERSONAL NOTE

I am a professional writer, journalist and photographer. That means that I have a long history of getting paid for my work. All of my work.

I believe deeply in the power of original content, appropriate attribution, and good common sense. My good name depends on it, and so does yours.

The law applies equally to me as well. Let me explain:

Please be aware that I, too, abide by the law as well as constrain myself in such a way as to express appreciation and good manners for the creators, curators, and non- and for-profit resources on the internet.

Any image or video not created by me that used in the context of this blog adheres as strictly as possible to Creative Commons Laws, American Fair Use Copyright Law, and any affiliate governing bodies.

Any idea or information that is not common knowledge does indeed feature appropriate attributions, and where appropriate, links to the original information.

I believe in original work. And I believe respect goes both ways.

I also believe deeply and passionately in the idea of Creative Commons as a governing body, as well as the concept of Fair Use as determined by individuals and groups.

Plus, in all ways, I try to follow the curators code— a guideline that I believe is important for anyone, professional or otherwise, because it is both a useful way to make sure your friends, family and readers may learn more about any photograph, subject, idea you introduce, but also because it shows courtesy, respect, good manners, and professionalism.
